Professional Profile

Charlotte Ruwona is a dynamic leader, mental health advocate and social entrepreneur dedicated to transforming lives through strategic empowerment and compassionate service. She is the Founder and CEO of Valor Mental Health Foundation, a Botswana-based organization she established in 2017 to champion mental wellness, youth development and community resilience.

Charlotte is a psychologist in training with a strong background in mental health education and youth empowerment. Her academic journey is complemented by her participation in prestigious leadership programs such as the YALI Civic Leadership Program and the Amel Institute Leadership Training.

In addition to her advocacy work, she serves as the Vice Chairperson of the Botswana National Youth Council (BNYC), where she actively contributes to youth policy development and national transformation. Charlotte is also a mentor, public speaker and author, known for her authentic storytelling and practical guidance on mental health, entrepreneurship and personal growth.

She is the visionary behind several impactful initiatives, including structured mentorship and parenting programs and is passionate about supporting young leaders and fostering community resilience. Her work is rooted in empathy, driven by purpose and focused on creating sustainable, inclusive change across Botswana and beyond.
